On a 4-week trip last month it became clear that the maps need updating. The Toyota dealer wants $200 for a CD that will do a one-time update. Obviously, I could buy a Garmin GPS with lifetime updates for. Now, Toyota has launched the new Toyota Touch 2 with Go multimedia systems with maps provided by HERE, designed and built by connected technologies company HARMAN. After I got the AA/CarPlay FW update few months ago, an option for auto check and auto download of map updates appeared in settings (to download maps directly from car). I asked the dealership to check for and install navigation system map updates during my next service appointment. They've indicated no map updates exist as of yet for the 2019 or newer systems.
